AssurX Announces Immediate Availability of CATSWeb® Version 6.1 Enterprise Quality Tracking System

MORGAN HILL CA USA (July 26, 2004) – AssurX today announced the immediate availability of CATSWeb Version 6.1, a new release of the CATSWeb Enterprise Quality Tracking System that increases user productivity with an innovative new feature set. CATSWeb is a comprehensive, real-time automated quality system that is designed to track and manage issues and actions, from identification through disposition and corrective action. CATSWeb Dynamic Forms(TM) and Full Text Search are the centerpieces of the new release.

Organizations continue to expand the use of CATSWeb into more and more enterprise-wide, global business processes. They seek to collect more data, and higher quality data, to feed their continuous improvement efforts. Critical data may be needed from a variety of sources, which may or may not be integrated. Unstructured data, such as that embedded in documents, notes and E-mail messages, is increasing in importance. This is especially true in the regulated industries that AssurX serves. And, manual data entry is still the norm in many business processes.

CATSWeb Dynamic Forms and Full Text Search are two of the key improvements that we made for our customers.”

CATSWeb Dynamic Forms(TM) enable the CATSWeb user interface to dynamically adapt and change based on a user’s prior inputs during the data entry process. Typical uses include:

• Decision trees, in which the form adapts to provide only the fields and choices relevant to the user’s prior entries.
• Context-sensitive data entry instructions, diagrams and aids.
• Dynamic pictures and graphics (e.g., user can view a picture of the widget they just specified so as to visually confirm it is the correct one).
• Assisting data entry, which allows related information from any system to be incorporated into the user interface while data entry is ongoing.
• Verifying the consistency of data against information in external systems, as it is being entered.
  
  

CATSWeb Full Text Search enables users to execute searches that can span across all CATSWeb records (live and archived), inside attached files, into external files and linked information systems (e.g., MES, ERP & CRM), and into CATSWeb help files and external files. An extensibility mechanism based on CATSWeb Web Services technology allows searches to extend into external search engines and research sites such as Google, Ovid and Factiva. Search results from all information sources are presented in a single integrated display, sorted by relevancy or user-defined criteria. Advanced searches support stemming, fuzzy, concept, phonic, boolean, proximity and regular expression searching. International language support is available for English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Norwegian and other languages.

Additional new features and improvements in CATSWeb Version 6.1 include:

• Custom authentication mode enables login and electronic signature verification to be performed via LDAP, E-mail systems, X.509, etc.
  
• Enhanced E-mail Integration enables customers to log or filter outbound messages.
  
• File Attachment Review feature allows attachments to be pre-processed (e.g., scanned for viruses or worms) before they enter the CATSWeb system.
  
• Portable Web Services allow customers to move their tailored CATSWeb Web Services implementations between databases, or share them with other CATSWeb customers.
